More incidents do not always mean greater danger.

Between January 2018 and 16 May 2026, Lagos recorded the highest number of security incidents, with 2,321 cases. However, Borno recorded 13,546 fatalities from 1,240 incidents, showing that incident frequency alone does not provide a complete picture of security risk.
