36 Yobe Geidam Jul 03, 2026 Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly destroyed four vehicles, including trucks, one of which was laden with goods worth millions of naira, during an early morning attack on Geidam town in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State. According to residents of the affected community, the insurgents infiltrated the town at about 4:30 am on Friday while most people were asleep and set vehicles parked in front of the Geidam Local Government Secretariat ablaze. A resident said the attackers first targeted the secretariat, where they burnt a Toyota Hilux and a Sharon bus belonging to the local government. 37 Benue Jotar Jul 03, 2026 A terrorist, suspected to be one of the assailants, who killed the former Secretary to the Benue State Government, SSG, Prof. David Salifu has been neutralized by troops of the Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE, OPWS. It was recalled that the former SSG died after sustaining gunshot injuries during an attack by the criminal elements. In a statement issued on Friday night, the Acting Media Information Officer to the OPWS task force, Ahmad Zubairu said one of the terrorists died following a gun duel in the Jotar village, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. The statement indicated that while acting on a credible intelligence about the activities of the criminals, troops were deployed at Kyado and immediately mobilised to the suspected location to prevent the criminals from carrying out their activities. According to Bakatsine, the attackers invaded the community on Friday and shot dead a resident identified as Muzakkir during the attack. 40 Kebbi Argungu Jul 03, 2026 Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested 25 youths during a raid on a hotel in Argungu Local Government Area over alleged involvement in immoral acts. The Director of Shariah of the board, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi. According to Kamba, the operation was carried out on July 3 as part of the boards ongoing efforts to curb social vices and promote moral values across the state. He said the raid led to the arrest of 25 suspects, comprising 12 males and 13 females.
