Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Okokon Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday. He said operatives of the Force Intelligence Departments Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT), working with local security support groups, carried out the operation on Saturday after receiving credible intelligence on the victims location. 47 Zamfara Moriki Jul 03, 2026 Nigerian troops have repelled a terrorist attack on a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Moriki, Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Saturday night. According to the post, the attack occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Friday when the terrorists launched an assault on the military base from different directions. Security sources quoted by Makama said troops of Combat Team 5 (CT 5) held their positions and engaged the attackers in a gun battle. The troops were able to repel the attack, forcing the terrorists to retreat from the base. The sources added that three civilians were hit by stray bullets during the attack. The injured victims were immediately evacuated to a hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment, Makama wrote. 50 Plateau Banasu Jul 02, 2026 Troops of Operation Enduring Peace, OPEP, have repelled suspected Fulani bandits during a rapid response operation following reports of sporadic gunfire around Banasu High Ground in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. A statement posted on its verified X handle on Friday said the incident occurred at about 1:52 p.m. on July 2, when troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, deployed at Gyambwas, received reports of intermittent shootings around the Banasu High Ground. The Army said the planned attack was in response to previous attack on harders and rustling of their livestock by militia men in Mangu.
